HALF WAY THERE
Now we’re half way to base camp we can share some good news - we are already half way to our funding target of £5000. Much of this success is due to Honorary Club member Major Lil Gurung who, as the rest of us exercised in Yorkshire, has been really walking in the Himalayas and who has raised over £1200 in sponsorship. In 1971 he served as Communications Officer on a real international Everest expedition involving 900 porters and 40 climbers from 12 countries. More recently Kelvin and Liz Burkinshaw really trekked to Base Camp and the photos we’re using on the trek to Base Camp are theirs. So there is some reality in our virtual world!
