Breaking the record! 

This year a record 744 runners participated in the event. The threatened rain did not materialise and the run, which involved completing as many laps as possible of a one mile circuit,  took place under ideal conditions.

Many thanks to our main sponsors, Maritime Cargo Processing plc. Also, many thanks to all our other sponsors and supporters, including volunteers from Felixstowe Inner Wheel, Felixstowe Landguard Rotary Club, the Felixstowe Lions Club and all who helped make it such a successful and memorable day.

The club will be using the income from the event to help deserving causes in the Felixstowe area. This year the main beneficiary is The Compass, which is a Christian charity, almost three years old, based at Christ Church, Felixstowe. In addition, runners through their own sponsorships, have traditionally provided important funds for local clubs, charities and other worthy causes.

The fancy dress competition was sponsored by Ruby’s community café on Bent Hill.  The  cash prizes were presented by the Mayor of Felixstowe, Seamus Bennett. The prize winners were 1^st Beach Hut, 2^nd Mario Brothers, 3^rd Star, 4^th Dragons and a Mayor’s Special Prize for a moonwalking Michael Jackson.
