We are committed to helping other less-fortunate people in poorer countries through this scheme. Lendwithcare brings together entrepreneurs in developing countries with people with the power to help them - people like us. Run by one of the world's leading aid and development organisations, Lendwithcare is a revolutionary way for us to help people in the developing world to transform their lives.
So far, we have made 96 loans totalling £5,160, of which 78 have been fully repaid, 13 are still being repaid and unfortunately 4 have defaulted. Our loans have helped 455 entrepreneurs and 1163 family members in support of small businesses run by both men and women in Zambia, Malawi, Cambodia, Ecuador, Peru, Philippines, Pakistan, Benin, Zimbabwe, Togo, Rwanda, Vietnam and the Palestinian Territories. A total of 282 jobs have been created with 1,900 people helped. Regular repayments are being received from most of those we have supported.
Recent activity has included loans to grocery retail enterprises in Paraguay and Thialand, an arts and handicraft enterprise in Peru, a workshop in Pakistan, farming and retail enterprise groups in Rwanda, Cambodia, Togo, Malawi, Vietnam, and Pakistan, farmers and a fishmonger in the Philippines, Vietnam, Malawi and Ecuador, a shop in Cambodia, plus a retail health operation in the Palestinian Territories.
