Community Service

Rotary in our Community

.

Community projects are important to members of the Rotary Club of West Fife.

COMMUNITY_GRANT_APPLICATION_GUIDELINES.docx

Fund raising projects contribute to the community programme and that is augmented with Community Suppers that rotarians host.

Like all avenues of Rotary service and organisations worldwide, the current and still ongoing Covid 19 crisis has continued to have a major effect on Community and Vocational service during the whole of this Rotary Year.

We have continued to seek opportunities to lend assistance throughout the whole of our catchment area during the past year, including various organisations in the main in Valleyfield, Blairhall, Crombie and most recently Culross.

Robin has been very active in both promoting our Club and provision of possible forms of assistance in the Limekilns, Charlestown and Pattiesmuir villages in particular and was the driving force behind our project to provide 220 activity packs for the rainbows, brownies and guides at the end of 2020.

We also managed to repeat the laying of 4 Poppy Wreaths on Remembrance Day and once again supported the Salvation Army both with fuel card donations and their Christmas Toy appeal. Thanks to Helen for continuing our links with the Salvation Army.

The Covid 19 crisis has once again put paid to any plans this year for involvement in local Galas and Fetes, although Brian and Ewan we keeping an eye on a possible Kids In event to replace the usual Kids Out event later this year.

Many thanks to everyone who has helped with the Community and Vocational work this year, but with particular thanks to fellow Committee Members Ewan, Ken Cowe, Helen and Robin.
