On the evening of 12th October 2022, the speaker was transport and royal photographer, Jack Boskett. Jack has been interested in trains since before he can remember - there are photographs to prove it. He became a keen and accomplished railway photographer, but amateur. One morning he was off to take pictures of the Royal Train and his mother said to him “If you might meet the Queen, you put a suit and tie on!”, so he did. The only formally dressed photographer in the compound, when the Royal photographer was delayed, an Aide walked straight up to him and told him that he would have to be the Royal Photographer that day. His pictures we good enough for The Palace and it opened a door for him. He had several examples of Royals creating scenes for him to photograph. It was an enthralling talk capped off with pictures from inside S George’s Hall during Her Majesty’s State Funeral. His proudest piece of work was the recreation of a horse being ridden alongside a Merchant Navy steam engine outside Toddington on the Glos & Warks railway.
