Sat Apr 2nd 2011

The annual Music Concert given by youthful members of the Fenland and East
Cambridgeshire Area Academy from Neale Wade School was held on Saturday 2nd
April, at St Peter's Church, March.

Supported by March Rotary Club, in ticket sales and administration on the
night, a packed audience heard a wide selection of music from popular to
classics, played by dozens of youngsters, in large and small ensembles.

At the conclusion, Rotary President John Lattimore thanked those who had
assisted behind the scenes, commenting it was felt to be 'the best yet'. He
added, those who attended, or with connections to the Music Academy will be
please to know that it is anticipated that circa £900 has been raised. These
moneys are to assist in the development of the musical skills of over 200
pupils who regularly attend, and with the upkeep and purchase of instrument
for the future.

The evening ended with a dark shadow cast over all, when it was revealed
that Kathy Fealber, a friend, colleague and teacher to many of the young
musicians performing that evening, had tragically lost her life in a car
accident, travelling en route to the Concert.

A shocked and sombre audience left, many with tears in their eyes.

On behalf of March Rotary Club may we offer our condolences to all who knew
her.
