CLUB SERVICE COMMITTEE
CLUB SERVICE COMMITTEE
This Committee is responsible for the everyday running of the Club itself.
The Committee is traditionally run by the President-Elect and for several years now has not had a formal meeting, but as its functions are diverse this is not a drawback and the Chair communicates with his members on a need-to basis. As he also reports to Council he has to be reasonably on the ball!
So who makes up this Committee:
HOUSE – Currently John Williams, who liaises with The Heatherlands over meal cost, numbers etc and the venue. As Tom Collins, the proprietor, has become a member of the Club, John has really only got to get the numbers right – and that's where you come in.
ATTENDANCE – If you cannot attend Club on a Monday night, you MUST give your apologies to John Williams (mobile nr 07564 271465) by noon on the Monday, if you are later than this phone The Heatherlands direct on 0151 648 1807. All members have to get into the habit of giving their apologies if they cannot attend.
BULLETIN – The Club has a regular Newsheet/Magazine which is published on a monthly basis. Over the past few years this has taken an email format for many members, saving on printing costs. Brian Warrington is the current Editor, and if you have anything that you feel may be of interest to others, please pass it over to Brian.
SPEAKER SECRETARY – The Club has a Speaker at least three times every month. Len Kirkham is always on the lookout for new interesting Speakers, if you know of any, please pass the details on.
WELFARE – We are all infirmed at some time and the rest of the Club want to know how you are. Also if you know how another member is faring, please pass on this knowledge to Ken Smail and the President.
HEALTH and SAFETY – It is the age we live in that this is necessary, but it goes without saying that all our Events must be as safe as possible. In addition if the Event involves transporting or residing with children, it is a Club requirement that the participating members are CRB checked. John Morton looks after this.
CLUB ARCHIVIST – What to keep for the future is always a taxing problem, and as the years increase, as a Club we are now 35 years old, so the amount of material we keep increases. Brian Jones looks after this for the Club.
