Foundation & International

It is said that "every minute of every day Rotary will touch the lives of millions
somewhere in the world."

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary's own charity.  It is supported by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation  and generous donations from the general public who share its vision of a better world.

Our International and Foundation Group provides help with fundraising, service and awareness raising of projects that mainly cover International communities.

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  It has become one of the foremost non-governmental foundations with the educational support programme being the largest private scholarship endowment in the world.

Our recent Foundation & International Projects include:

Choche Project - this multi Rotary club project has helped develop a Micro Finance Scheme for Ethiopian Coffee Farmers.  Click here for further details or use the menu at the right of this screen.

Community First Response Project - Along with other Rotary Clubs & the Rotary Foundation we have donated funds to purchase life saving equipment for our Mountain Rescue Teams and Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADS).

Polio Eradication - The fight to end polio is led by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which includes Rotary International, UNICEF, the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and governments of the world, with the support of many others around the globe.  Brampton & Longtown Rotary raises funds and awareness of this important project.

Education for All - this a Moroccan based charity which builds and operates boarding hostels for girls to enable them to attend school in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.  Due to the distances and lack of public transport, without the hostels it would be impossible for them to attend school. We have been supporting this organisation since 2008.   Click here for further details or use the menu at the right of this screen.
