Foundation Projects 2012-13
Polio Plus Keep the promise to eradicate polio. Although we have completed the Bill Gates challenge and raised the required $200million money is still needed to wipe it out completely. As you know, India did not report a single new case of polio last year...a remarkable achievement. We need to rid the other three countries, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria of the dreaded disease. a contribution to PolioPlus We intend to have a fund raising event specifically for this purpose.
Peace through Service If we undertake projects both here and abroad to improve health, water, sanitation, literacy, women and children's health, economic development of communities etc., we could be promoting peace in the world as happy people wish to live in peace. We intend to see if any projects are available to support in this country.
Annual Fund To continue contributing from our Happy Pot to the Annual Fund, our own charitable trust which supports matching grants and projects.
Joined up Rotary Joined up Rotary---work with the International and Community Service committees to undertake projects utilising Matching Grants.
Future Vision Prepare for Future Vision, the new way the Foundation will function as of July 2013; the District will arrange information seminars in relation to this. As part of this the club should seek opportunities to build partnerships with other clubs and other organisations that can join us in our mission.
GSE I’m sure that all members of the club have enjoyed participating in the Group Study Exchange Programme. The club would be interested in participating in incoming and outgoing teams when information is available.
All these programmes follow the Foundation Goals.
