President's Message

President for 2013-2014 is Roger Fitter

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE 2013

I am delighted that it is my year to be President of the Rotary Club of Colchester Trinity, and really looking forward to be leading a team of enthusiastic Rotarians for fun, fellowship and community service.

I wish to involve all our members in the events we organise and run, and promote our Club at every opportunity.   To this end, within the first month of taking office, the club held a meeting at the Stockwell in Colchester, and some 25 guests joined us for the evening.  A few days later a larger number of guests turned up for a fund raising BBQ.

Apart from the usual, but essential, charities such as, polio eradication, shelter boxes, dictionaries for a local primary school, a sizeable donation will be made to the radiotherapy department of the CoHoC, Colchester Hospital Charity for a new refreshment point in their (now under construction) department at the Colchester General Hospital.    In addition we are supporting a new youth club that is being launched in September this year.

Two major fund raising events will take place during this Rotary year, the first being our annual sporting dinner, to be held on Friday 14 March 2014 with Neil Back MBE as guest speaker, and the second  event being our 10k charity race to be held on Sunday 11 May 2014.  In addition we will run other social and fund raising events.

To help the community we shall continue with mock type interviews with the school leavers at the Stanway School, and continue to clean up the River Colne.

Our meetings on a Wednesday evening are relaxed, lively, yet fulfilling, and interesting, and guests are always welcome.

Roger Fitter
