The Community Service Committee is tasked with organising fund-raising events and functions.
The Rotary Club of Swindon North will be supporting various worthy local and national charities during the year. To enable it to do so the Community Service Committee is tasked with organising fund-raising events and functions.
Although being the Club's main fund-raising committee, the Community Service Committee also takes on the responsibility of organising most of the Club's social functions and inter-club competitions for members and their partners.
It will also have to find suitable people to address the Club at the speaker meetings in August, November, February 2013 and May.
The major fund-raising events it is planning include an Elvis Tribute artist and American themed supper on 22 September at Royal Wootton Bassett Golf & County Club and also the annual Charity Golf Day at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club on 15 May 2013.
The Club owns a Dice & Gaming Stall and it is hoped there will be an opportunity to use it at the “Highworth Festival” on Saturday 15 September.
Inter Rotary Club "sporting" events will be the usual Quiz and Skittles competitions and social events for Club members and their partners will again include the ever-popular Fireside Supper Evening, a Fellowship Walk and the annual trip to the Watermill Theatre near Newbury to see a show. Venturing further afield an away weekend to the Isle of Wight is also planned.
