Community & Vocational Service Committee
The Community & Vocational Service Committee is tasked with organising fund-raising events and functions.
The Rotary Club of Swindon North will be supporting various worthy local and national charities during the year. To enable it to do so the Community & Vocational Service Committee is tasked with organising fund-raising events and functions.
Although being the Club's main fund-raising committee, the Community & Vocational Service Committee also takes on the responsibility of organising most of the Club's social functions and inter-club competitions for members and their partners.
It will also have to find suitable people to address the Club at the speaker meetings in August, November, and in February and May next year.
The major fund-raising events it is planning include a Grand Swimathon at the Link Centre in West Swindon and the annual Charity Golf Day at Ogbourne Downs Golf Club in May.
The Club owns a Dice & Gaming Stall and it is hoped there will be several opportunities to use it during the year.
Inter Rotary Club "sporting" events will be the usual Quiz and Skittles competitions and social events for Club members and their partners will again include such things as the popular Fireside Supper Evening and theatre visits. Venturing further afield a fellowship weekend in September to Derbyshire is also planned.
