Charity Fete & Family Sports

2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Flora Dance      2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Charity Fete (Charity Fayre Day)

King George V Playing Field

A family day packed full of fun and laughter with a village fete theme and traditional sports and races from yesteryear.  Free entry for all ages, with free ice-cream and refreshments for all competitors, and Coronation medals for those children who win or try their very best, courtesy of Lostwithiel Town Council.

The day will start with the Flora Dance at 1:00pm, led by the Town Mayor and the President of Lostwithiel Rotary Club.  Anyone can take part in the Flora Dance, just turn up for training at the Community Centre from 6:30pm - 7:30pm on Thursday 18 July 2013.

Throughout the afternoon, you will find traditional and modern stalls, sheaf pitching, cream teas, barbecue, town band and many of your favourites from previous years.  The day also includes a decorated hat competion, with prizes being awarded for best, worst and most imaginative hats.

2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Cricket Competition

Entrance by invitation from the Boconnoc Cricket Club.  A barbecue and beer tent will be available, and the competition will finish with prize giving at the Royal Talbot Hotel.

Competition Format & Rules

Boconnoc Cricket Club has an active coaching & playing policy and welcomes new players & spectators of all ages (contact either Rob Trump on 01726 65476 or Jon Niblet on 01579 348921 for more information).

2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Rounders Competition

Organised by our local Fire Service, the evening will start with a juniors competition, which will be followed by an open event. There will be a barbecue all evening, but no alcohol is permitted on the field.

Entry forms should be returned to Penhaligon's by Saturday 20 July 2013, although late entries may be accepted on the night entirely at the discretion of the organisers.

2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Pram Race

Junior Route:  Parade, North St, Cattle Market, LCA (turn), North St, Church Ln, Fore St, Parade (2 laps).  Senior Route: Parade, Globe, Cattle Market, LCA (turn) , North St, Church Ln, Social Club, Fore St, Kings Arms, across A390, alleyway to Royal Oak, Royal Talbot, Albert Terr, across A390, Fore St, Parade (2 laps).

Teams must consist of 4 people maximum, with 4 wheels minimum on each pram.  Any pram with less than 4 wheels will start from the back.  Any pram considered un-safe by the stewards will be disqualified.  Entry forms to be returned to Penhaligon's by 3:00pm Tuesday 23 July 2013.  Entries may not be accepted after this.

2013 Lostwithiel Carnival Band & Choir Concert

With St Pinnock Brass band and Wadebridge Male Voice Choir performing popular music, the church is sure to be full, so arrive early if you don't want to be left standing.  Adrian Wilton will again be our Concert Compere,
who will no doubt keep us all amused as he did last year.

Much fun will also be had afterwards in the Social Club where you will be able to participate in some informal singing with members of the Choir.
