Speaker:- David Lawton C&N Girls Football Club
Stewards:- Tony Hoy Lead* & Charles Miller (Speakers Report

Keith Burton introduced David Lawton, who spoke about the Crewe & Nantwich Football setup. The club was founded in 1996 by a local man called Ian Kemp. Realising the lack of opportunities for girls keen to play competitive football, Ian set up a local under 12s team and became a co founder of the Cheshire Girls Football League.

Crewe and Nantwich Girls Football Club are the largest girls football club in the area and has five teams in the Cheshire Girls Football League competing from under 10s to under 16s.

Crewe and Nantwich Girls Football Club also link into the Crewe Alexandra Ladies set up to provide a pathway for players from under 10s progressing through to Crewe Alex under 18s and ultimately the senior ladies team.

All of their coaches are FA qualified and are trained in first aid and child protection. Every coach and volunteer has been CRB checked.

Charles Miller, after confessing that he knew nothing about football, made an eloquent vote of thanks to David.
