To mark the opening of Carnival Week on Charity Fete Sunday on 21st July 2013, the Town Mayor, Councilor Gill Parsons, will lead the Flora Procession at 1:00pm with dance partner, John Hurst, the incoming President of the Rotary Club. Gill hopes that lots of local residents and children will join her in dancing around the stalls on the KGV playing field. Indeed, old folk lore has it that the more who join the dance, then better the weather will be. Please don't let it rain by not joining us!
The dance is relatively simple, but a practice session will be held in the Lostwithiel Community Centre on Thursday 18th July 2013 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm to help everyone learn the steps. We hope that lots of people from the town will join in. It should be great fun, so please do come along to the practice session if you can, even if you are on your own as we can always pair you up with someone else who doesn't have a partner. On the day, we hope that everyone dancing will dress up bright and festive.
