The Rotary Club of Brandon & District is part of Rotary International, which is a worldwide humanitarian service organisation, consisting of 33,000 Rotary clubs, in more than 200 countries.

Within the United Kingdom itself, Rotary clubs are managed by an affiliate organisation called Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, (otherwise known as "RIBI"), whose job it is to help co-ordinate the work of Rotary throughout the UK.

To help RIBI do this more effectively, Rotary clubs are grouped by region into "districts". Since our club is based in Suffolk, we come under District 1080, which includes around 70 other Rotary Clubs across East Anglia.

Although we are given guidance by RIBI, we are allowed a great deal of flexibility and autonomy over the way in which we run our own affairs. That said, we abide by the "Object of Rotary", and as Rotarians, we follow Rotary's ethics, objectives, and founding principles.

At present we have around twenty active members in our club, and our remit is to support our local community, as well as other UK and international charities. We are also working on service projects with other Rotary clubs in our region, and we are actively supporting Rotary projects in other parts of the country and overseas
