A tree was planted on March 13th 2014 in front of the Wrexham Guildhall to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee.
The planting was performed by Past President Brian Davies in whose term as President this activity was initiated. After the ceremony on the front lawn of the Wrexham Guildhall a short reception with tea and biscuits was held in the Mayor's Chambers where he and the Lady Mayoress described the regalia and other memorabilia in the room.
The tree planted was a Dove Tree (Davidia involucrata), also known as Handkerchief Tree or a Ghost Tree, which is a native of China. This will have spectacular white flowers in due coarse, after which it gets its names.
