Good Afternoon fellow Rotarians and thank you Mr President for allowing me to start your year in office with my “Job talk.”
Many years ago my good friend Robert Eardley invited me to consider becoming a Rotarian, at the time I took an interest but was unable to take up his offer due to work commitments and so what has changed to allow me to make that commitment now and who is this person able to stand here today as a proud Rotarian?
Well, I assume the best place to start is the beginning, so Tim Bowker was born on 6th September 1968 in Gerard Drive Nantwich, making me a true and very proud Dabber. The youngest of 5 children to Samuel and Maureen Bowker, who have just celebrated their Diamond wedding Anniversary last week.
Maureen was born in Crewe Road and is from the famous Gomer Jones pop dynasty, while Sam was born in Burland.
Growing up in a loving family was delightful and I had a very happy childhood. Attending Millfields Primary school, where my fondest memories were playing for the school football team and winning a Britain in Bloom painting competition with my painting of some Union Jack poppies.
