SPARKLES and Spitfires will set the scene for the start of double celebrations of a hotel and airfield which share close links.
A 1930s/1940s themed dinner dance will mark the 80th birthday of the hotel, whilst the airfield will celebrate its 73rd birthday.
The Moorland Garden Hotel had its foundation stone laid on August 15, 1934 and RAF Harrowbeer opened on the same date in 1941.
The hotel and airfield are linked by the fact that aircrew used to practice their

more Swimmer Caroline Easton hands on the Presidential baton to cyclist Phil Chesters who will be followed next Rotary year by runner Helen West. The triathlon trio will be raising money for charity at the Roadford Lake team triathlon on 6th September.
