Speaker Evening with Victor Marshall and 200 Club Draw

Meet at the Royal Oak at 7:30pm for dinner at 8:00pm, after which Vic will talk about his father, Viktor Popelka DFC. Richard Hanson will host the speaker. The evening will conclude with November's 200 Club Draw.

A clue to Vic's origins may be found in his full name: Victor "Karel" Leslie Marshall.  Since his retirement, Vic has been researching the life of his father, Viktor Popelka, who joined the RAF as a Czech Squadron fighter pilot during WW2.  Working with enthusiastic and dedicated descendants of veterans of the Free Czechoslovak Air Force, Vic has uncovered a wealth of information about his father, whom he never really knew in real life.  The story of Viktor Popelka's life is encapsulated below.
