We work to join the dots for nature

• We manage and look after 126 nature reserves for wildlife, including ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows, and wetlands. More than 95% of people living in the three counties are less than five miles from a Wildlife Trust nature reserve.
   
• We join the dots for nature through our Living Landscapes work to create a bigger, better and more joined up network of nature reserves and supporting neighbouring landowners to help them do their bit for wildlife.
   
• We work beyond the boundaries of our nature reserves by advising landowners who own and manage important local sites where wildlife thrives. We provide advice and support so that these wildlife sites are the best that they can be for local wildlife.
   
• Our work is based on scientific principles and we monitor the success of our work through our support and work with our Local Environmental Record Centres and our Ecology Groups work.
   
• We defend local wildlife through our engagement with the planning system and by campaigning on the issues that matter to you and working with local MPs. Read more about the issues and challenges that threaten wildlife across our three counties. Our concern is to make certain that wildlife is not forgotten in any planning or developments throughout the three counties, and that every opportunity to help wildlife flourish is taken up.
   
• We provide opportunities for thousands of people to enjoy and connect with wildlife every year. This includes running inspiring events, workshops, schools programmes and activities for volunteers across the three counties. Find out more in our Discover and Learn section.
   
• The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire is part of The Wildlife Trusts, the largest grouping of charitable organisations in the United Kingdom concerned with the conservation of the whole of the UK's natural world.
   
• We also contribute to larger-scale campaigns with our colleagues in other Wildlife Trusts and play our part in international campaigns, where the end result will be a richer and better-managed natural environment with benefits for wildlife area. These include the Living Seas campaign for greater marine protection for UK seas.
   
• We also work closely with many other partner organisations, including businesses such as Anglian Water (for whom we manage two nature reserves), and other wildlife charities such as RSPB by jointly managing land, campaigning for a Nature Improvement, and in securing the Special Protection Areas.We work with Government agencies such as the Environment Agency, Natural England and the Forestry Commission, as well as local authorities and many others.
