John instead gave the talk himself, talking about Rotary Foundation. The main points included

-        It asks every member to contribute £100 per annum (circa £50 with gift aid).

-        This year exceptionally Nantwich has given £5500.

-        It aims to promote peace and change throughout the world.

-        Some details on larger global grants and smaller district grants.

-        TRF gives scholarships for post graduates to study in other countries and 1000 Peace Fellowships.

-        The big project since 1979 has been the eradication of Polio which has happened in conjunction with the World Heatlh Organisation, Local Governments, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

-        The last four countries where the disease has a foothold are Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria although the only new cases this year have been in Pakistan.
