Jenny gave us a good understanding of the original aims and objectives of the Home Farm Trust when it was originally formed.
She explained that they are now a national charity, taking care of folks with leaning disabilities; and that they hav rebranded as hft. See
http://www.hft.org.uk/ for more information.
In our area, they currently have 2 residential homes - one in Frocester, and one in Avening. But the needs of their clients are to be more focussed on being able to interact with the wider community; also the older residentail properties are not ideal for the current needs and are expensive to operate.
Hence, the Trust is currently working on 2 local sites to build new, purposed-equiped, residential accomodation for a small number of clients - and then to gradually extend to cover all of their local needs.
She explained in detail the sort of modern, hi-ech - but very user friendly and easy to operate - aids for their clients. - and she did explain of course, that this equipment is expensive to provision in the first instance.
As far as possible, they are aiming to fund this whole programme from their own resoures - and in addition have had a very considerable sum from a local benefactor, but clearly would welcome addional funfing.
