Stonehouse is gearing up for it’s annual Goodwill Fest on Saturday 28th November between 2 - 6pm on Saturday 28th November. Stonehouse Community Partnership’s chair John Jeynes and co-organisor with Pam Swain said, “We both believe this year’s Goodwill Fest is going to be the biggest and best ever! We have all the usual attractions, Father Christmas in his Grotto in the High Street Medical Centre from 1.30 – 4.45pm, free face painting, theartre & arts and crafts for children in the Town Hall, John Coneleys Funfair will be in the Globe Car Park. Police, Fire, Steam Engine and a vintage vehicle will be in the Woolpack Car Park with Dignity’s Fairground Barrell Organ outside the Post Office. We have over 30 stalls and pitches along the High Street and on the Town Greens who along with local town busineses will be offering a wide range of gifts, food, and drinks along with entertainment throughout the afternoon on the main stage. The highlight of the event will be a lantern procession at 5pm consisting of 12 large illuminated lanterns based upon the “Twelve Days of Christmas” led by Father Christmas and our Samba Band along the High Street. The lanterns have been made by local community groups under the direction of artists from Global Arts Inc. of Gloucester.Following the procession Father Christmas with our Town Mayor, Theresa Watts will turn the Christmas tree lights on to a traditional countdown. We look forward to welcoming you all to this ever popular and very family friendly event. Special thanks goes to all our volunteers, sponsors both in cash and in kind without whom the event would not be possible.”
