The Old Pubs of Stonehouse

Wed, Sep 30th 2015 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

The history from Vicki Walker and Shirley Dicker of the Stonehouse History Society

The Crown and Anchor Pub, Stonehouse

At our meeting in frampton Village Hall,  Vicki and Shirley,  from Stonehoiuse History Society,  gave us a very interesting talk covering the history of many of the old pubs in Stonehouse.

Backed up with interesting slide-show detail.

There were originally fourteen public houses in the town - of which only two now remain.

The Woolpack Inn and the Globe Inn.

Vicki and Shirley were very enthusiastic answering members questions, an everyone very much enjoyed seeing pictures of old Stonehouse and the pubs.

Also hearing the stories of the families who ran these two remaining pubs at the Woolpack and the Globe.
