Emergency Planning
Talk dealt with the voluntary organizations set-up to deal with emergencies and in support of the main Emergency Services.
Statutory requirements to list these in `Local Response Forums` split in two categories. Cat 1 Well trained and able to respond quickly and Cat. 2 willing volunteers to give back-up.
Training exercises are held to train and test responses for `Accredited Volunteers` able to respond in under 2 hours in `Rapid Response Areas` and consists of numerous voluntary organisation, such as St.John Ambulances, Churches Together as well as Rotary.
In our area Stroud District Council have their own Emergency Planning Officer.
Families are encouraged to prepare their own Emergency Plan and a useful leaflet was available to cover this.
The speaker also touched on `Stress`and how to combat this.
