Rotary Club of Bedford - Western Bypass Challenge

1stMarch 2016
Dear

Western Bypass Challenge. Sunday 10th April 2016.

Bedford has waited fifty years for the Western Bypass. The last phase is nearly completed.
Before the bypass opens to lorries, buses and cars the Rotary Club of Bedford has arranged
with Breheny, the contractor and Bedford Borough Council to hold a run and walk on the
new road on Sunday 10th April 2016.
The run will take place entirely on the new road, to the west of "Sainsbury's roundabout",
situated south of Clapham and the A6, Clapham bypass (Paula Radcliffe Way).
There will be three separate events, as follows:
10.00 am 5 mile Open Run - Adults and Over 16's.
11.00 am 2.5 miles Fun Run for All - Adults, accompanied children & Families
12.00 noon Open Walk - Adults, Families & Wheelchair users
The events will not exit at the Bromham end but will return to the start.
Car Parking will be on the Rushmoor School playing fields and at the Bedford Modern
School.
In addition to the fun of taking part in the events, the Rotary Club of Bedford provides the
opportunity to raise funds for Sue Ryder St John's Hospice at Moggerhanger. In addition
10% of the total sponsorship raised will be allocated to the Rotary Club of Bedford Charity
Trust to meet local, national and overseas charitable causes supported by our club.
We would love to receive the support of your Club to this event with.
1. Publicity for the event to your club members and to the public.
2. Support by entries into the events.
3. Support at the event on the day with marshals at the car parks, at the start and on the
route. We will need about 40 marshals.
Here is the link to our website for event information booking.
Please contact me with offers of marshals and other help. I look forward to hearing from
you.
Yours in Rotary
Chris Kettler, President, Rotary Club of Bedford.
