Annual General Meeting, New Member Induction: Peter Hinstridge

Wed, May 11th 2016 at 7:45 pm - 9:00 pm

We inducted a new member Peter Hinstridge to Watford Rotary Club.

Peter was a keen cricketer, playing for the well-known Radlett Cricket Club for over 30 years. He was an all-rounder and captained one of the teams for a number of years before retiring from playing in 2000. He also served on the committee and was their treasurer for over 20 years.

Since ending his playing career he has turned to umpiring and umpires regularly during the cricket season. He runs the umpires panel for the Herts League, appointing umpires to the top divisions in the country. Outside of the cricket season he spends his time training present and prospective umpires.

Peter has served as chairman of the Hertfordshire Cricket Officials for the past 7 years and serves on the League committee and several sub-committee. In his professional life Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1977 and spent much of his career in business, including eight years in two spells with British Airways.
