Presentation to Frampton Archive and Museum

Mon, Mar 7th 2016 at 10:00 am - 11:00 am

An opportunity to share benefits from the 2015 Hidden Gardens event.

Frampton Archive presentation

The annual Hidden Gardens event in Frampton was held in June 2015 and proved once again, to be a great success.   It will be held again this year, on Sunday June 19th 2016, so make a note in your diary.

The event which has been organised by Stonehouse Rotary over many years, has always been run so that the Village and residents benefit from money raised.

Over the years, donations have been made to support St Mary’s Church and the Congregational Church, both the Village and Community Halls, Lakewood school, the Village playground, the Youth Cricket club, the Youth Football team, the Severnside Scout group, and two replacement bench seats for the Village Green.

In addition to these, donations have also been made to individual good causes.

A further donation was made from last year’s event, towards the Frampton Archive and Museum currently being created in The Court by a small team of dedicated volunteers.

The museum will be housing Clifford family, Frampton Court Estate and Village records and photographs.  The Village Albums will also be kept in the Museum and will be available for the public to view on Mondays.

A request had been made for financial support towards the cost of special display lighting.     Modern overhead LED spotlights have been installed, in order to effectively illuminate the wall and cabinet displays.

A  cheque for £300 was presented by Stonehouse Rotary Club President - John Morris, to volunteer Jean Speed. Also present were archivist volunteer Pat Bennett and Mr and Mrs Clifford.
