Quindici are a mixed voice chamber choir, based in Mid Wales. The name, the number 15 in Italian, is derived from the first line up of the choir in September 2001, when 15 friends and family of the directors Suzanne Edwards and Tim Mills came together to raise money for the Parish Church of St. Cynon, Tregynon. What was intended as a ‘one off’ project has evolved into a permanent group of singers who share a love of fine choral music. Drawing singers from Mid Wales, the Welsh Marches as well as further afield, the choir perform a variety of repertoire ranging from Tudor anthems to contemporary compositions. But the main focus is on 20 th century British choral music, which both directors share a great love of Quindici enjoy performing in concert, competing and travelling to lead church and Cathedral services around the country, and they have established a reputation for innovative programming. In February and April this year Quindici formed the chorus for some of Mid Wales Opera’s touring production of Eugene Onegin, which was a great honour for the choir.
