On Thursday 11th August President Brian Johnson welcomed 22 Rotarians also guest speaker District 1010 Governor Roddy Duncan and his wife Charlotte to the lunchtime meeting at Gilvenbank Hotel.
On reception this week was Ewen Macdonald who said grace, Krishnaswamy and Peter May.
One apology for absence was received.
Lindsay Roy along with Jim Boyd brought back greetings from the Rotary Club of Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay whom they had visited in the past week.
Edgar Shields mentioned that he was arranging for a private group visit on the Forth and Clyde canal on the 1st September sailing on the barge from Kirkintilloch a trip which will take about 3 hours.
Geoff Sampson mentioned that we had been drawn against the Rotary Clubs of Kirkcaldy (A) and Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay and Burntisland and Kinghorn (H) in the Gavel competition and dates were still to be arranged.
President Brian Johnson mentioned that the Rotary Club of Kinross will be having a 40th Anniversary Charter Dinner on the 30th September 2016.
He also mentioned that we would be holding a coffee morning again this Wednesday 17th September at 11am in the Madhouse bakery in Woodside
Today our guest speaker was District 1010 Governor Roddy Duncan from the Rotary Club of Kintore Kemnay and District and he gave an inspirational talk, talking about Polio Plus, RYLA camps, Foundation Rotary's own charity, membership which included gender and diversity. He spoke about the Rotary themes "Service above self" and this year Rotary serving humanity.
Next week the speaker will be District Governor Roddy Duncan.

This coming week on the 18th August 2016 on reception will be Wilna Roger, Sheila Matthews and Peter May.
