Due to a late call off President Brian Johnson filled in as our speaker this week. Having recently been away for a week in Huntsville Alabama with a group of local youths who had embarked on a kit car project funded by lottery funding. These cars are custom Cars design and built by the group. The car had been untested in this country and its first road run was after it had been flown over to America. There were many cars from around the world competing many from America and China. The Scots car competed well and was in 2nd position two thirds of the way through the race out of 27 cars in that class when their borrowed battery died on them. Despite this the team won a prize  that of the Spirit of Green Power. Brian said that the boys had done well and had been great ambassadors for Scotland. The Rotary vote of thanks was given by Lindsay Roy.

The speaker this week Thursday 8th December will be Lt Col, Andy Middlemass speaking about the Battle of the Somme. Due to the nature of the talk the meeting will be extended to give the speaker more time and will close at 2.15pm.

The Rotary Vote of thanks will be given by Jim Boyd.
