Dinner = Pre planning meeting

On Thursday 8th June 2017 President Brian Johnson welcomed 17 Club Rotarians and prospective new members Rotarian Jack Dempsey and Alistair McLeod and guest Rotarians Janet Lowe and Donald Stewart from the Rotary club of Dunfermline Carnegie to this lunch time meeting which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. 

On reception, this week were Anne Sampson saying grace and Geoff Sampson.

One apology for absence was received.

Malcolm Robertson brought back greetings from The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota Florida whom he had visited when on holiday in Florida.

Will Wishart mentioned that the last event in the clubs Calendar to be organised is the Kids Out day this Wednesday 14th June 2017 which is once again taking place at the Deer Park near Cupar.105 Children and over 60 carers and Rotarians are attending.

Treasurer Geoff Sampson advised members that as he was going on holiday he would like payment of memberships next week or at least confirmation that they will be continuing in membership as the website data base requires updating by the end of June.

Our meeting today on the 8th was given over to incoming President Lindsay Roy who deemed this in advance of the Clubs Assembly next week a Preplanning meeting advising members that we were making a difference and Punching above our weight in view of our great reduction in active members. He advises that we have to temper ambition with realism.

Wilna Roger advised that a meeting had been organised for Friday 9th at Glenrothes High School with Council Chairs and the High School Rectors to plan the events for the forthcoming Presidential year.

This week’s meeting on Thursday 15th June 2017 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. As this meeting is the Clubs Assembly where incoming President Lindsay Roy and his new council chairs advise the members of their plans for the forthcoming year please note we will be meeting earlier than normal at 12.35pm for a prompt start at 12.45pm. On reception will be Peter May.
