RAPID RESPONSE

President Peter reported that no member had come forward to held with short notice street collections.

FOUNDATION

Peter Keenan, as Foundation chairman, had previously on 20th March 2017 sent to members a proposed resolution for transmission to the Trustees of Rotary International , together with his paper entitled 'the Rationale of the proposed amendments to the Code of Policies affecting Foundation’s Unrestricted Assets'. The proposed resolution was : That the changes to the Code of Policies of the Trustees of Rotary International set out in the attachment considered at this meeting be transmitted to the Trustees with a request that they be incorporated in the Code and acted upon without delay.

He had urged all members to read these prior to the Business meeting.

Peter gave a very comprehensive report on this matter, clearly explaining the situation with very large sums of money being retained by Rotary International.

There followed much discussion about this matter and nearly all the members voted for the resolution, which Peter asked them to vote on as individual Rotarians. Of the 31 members present 30 voted for the resolution and 1 against. Of those not present 6 voted for the resolution and none against.

However this very important step will be discussed by Council, and an EGM called if thought necessary.
