On the 21st of March 2017 our President, Lynda Belton presented cheques, each amounting to £1250.00 to Kent,Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, Overseas Vision Aid and The Valence School Westerham.
These three charities were chosen by Lynda as the “President’s Charities” for her year. Valence School has a particular significance for her as does Vision Aid. Representatives of the three charities together with three pupils of Valence School enjoyed the Rotary evening which was held in The Rugby Club Pavilion, our usual meeting place and all commented on the friendly banter during the excellent meal which is a feature of our club.
We are looking forward to further distributions of funds and of course some will go to the annual Tea Party held in June at the WI Hall for our more elderly residents. A successful evening demonstrating the best of Rotary i.e.supporting good causes with lots of fun in the process.
