DRIVING SAFELY FOR LONGER

Wed, Mar 28th 2018 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Joint Meeting with Stroud Rotary - SPEAKER AG Alexandra Lloyd-Jones

There are more older and older car drivers requiring support to keep them driving safely

on UK roads.

AG Alexandra Lloyd- Jones and brother Nigel gave a carefully researched presentation on the plight of the senior driver based on their personal and poignant experience.

There are a myriad of agencies from DVLA to doctors to regulate and support with the initiative of Sergeant Rob Heard of the Hampshire Police an example of how personal injury accidents typical to the older driver can be reduced; Rotarians in Gloucestershire can campaign for awareness and expert training in our County.

Most accidents are due to driver error more than car and road design as the two minor factors. With all road safety attention to the younger driver,  greater support can be given to our seniors also.
