Children's Centre in Blantyre, Malawi

We in the Howe of Fife Rotary Club are proud to have been supporting Chimwemwe for a number of years.

There are many vulnerable and disadvantaged children who are missing out on education in Blantyre, Malawi's commercial capital. Chimwemwe is a project there that is supporting some of these children to attend school.

With the support from Rotary Foundation through the Rotary Club of the Howe of Fife in Scotland, Chimwemwe is setting up a study room at its centre in Baluti village, where most children have been missing out on education due to acute poverty and luck of support by the community.

Nmasimba School is one of the biggest schools in Malawi. Chimwemwe in partnership with Elon university from North Carolina is supporting children to access quality education by providing their learning materials and improving their literacy.

Mrs Paulo is one of the women from the community who’s been supported by Chimwemwe. She has successfully set-up a small business selling fish and vegetables. She’s using the profits to support her children by paying their school funds, providing school uniforms as well as feeding her family. Thanks to friends of Chimwemwe for your support!
