David Campbell, Chair for Young Enterprise Scotland Fife
Area Board, explained to members how the Board runs the Company Programme
across Fife. It runs from August to March for final year school pupils, who
form teams and market a real product or service having to deal with all the
aspects of setting up and running a real business, such as managing people,
strategy, marketing, finance and production etc.
Each team is supported by an experienced Business Advisor and a Link Teacher.
The programme is launched in August followed by a Christmas Trade Fair and the
area finals in March. During the year the teams must raise capital to fund
their projects, and do this in various ways such as holding events at their
school. The presentation was thought provoking in that it was perceived that
some of our members’ professional expertise could add value to extending the
programme.
The Club meets on Tuesdays at 6.30pm in Keavil House Hotel, Crossford and visitors are made very welcome.
