Laal Big Band Concert Supports Hospice at Home
The Laal Big Band Concert Sold Out and raised £2000 for Hospice at Home
"Sell out Concert raises £2000 for Hospice at Home"
In July, the Rotary
Club of Keswick promoted the "Laal Big Band" night at the Theatre by the
Lake and helped to raise the fantastic sum of £2000 for the Hospice at
Home charity. Julie Blundell, Fundraising
and Marketing manager for Hospice at Home commented "It is amazing to
receive such a large donation to our charity, we never imagined it would
be so generous" Last Friday, Rotarians Mike Ryder ( Violin), and Paul
Bowmer (Double Bass) joined local volunteer
Elaine Jones ( Flute) together with Rotary President Christine Sheldon
and Julie Blundell to hand over the donation. Mike Ryder, the main
organiser of the event, said that he never ceases to be amazed at the
generosity of Keswick people in supporting local
good causes, and a great time was had by all for the sell out concert.
We look forward to the next Rotary event at the theatre, Keswick's Own
Christmas Proms in December.
