Abbeyfield Presentation: The New Build

39 Rotarians and three guests -Terry Bate, Assistant District Governor, Mo Howsam, [Inner Wheel and Abbeyfield Trustee],and Colin Ayres [guest of Henry Besley]-attended our first Showcase Meeting, which focussed on the Club's 30 year involvement with the Abbeyfield Care Home in Heron Drive.

Stephen Jenkins led a team of four speakers and was supported by Gary Davies, Mo Howsam and David Montgomery. They gave a series of excellent fact-filled presentations on the history of the Club's involvement with Abbeyfield over the past 30 years, the role of Trustees, the current organisational structure, the ethos of care among the staff, and the ambitious plans for further building extension. Stephen encouraged those Club members who were not familiar with Abbeyfield to visit the care home. Stephen is happy to let Club members, who were not present or those who could not read the fine print, have a copy of the slide presentation that was the basis of the evening's talk. Colin congratulated the team on their very comprehensive group presentation, which was very well received by members present.

his first Showcase Meeting has set a very high standard, and we trust that the SCCC can fix their systems for future presentations.

Malcolm Turner sent round books of Raffle Tickets in aid of TOG. More available.
