Head Jane Jones spoke of the challenges, activity and fun at a special needs school.
There are 115 pupils in lower, middle and upper school as well as the more recently formed Apperley Centre for further education. The school curriculum, guided by Ofsted, has been adapted to fit the needs and aptitude for the Shrubberies School.
Running the school is a complex and rewarding task, with the multiple pupil needs and the number of staff and support agencies required to achieve a great result.
Footnote
Stonehouse Rotary have supported the Shrubberies over many years with financial support mostly as well supporting cooking and art activities. Also two Rotarians have been previous Chair of Governors namely Peter Rawll (present at the meeting) and the late Bill Jackson, who is fondly remembered for his diligence and determination for the success of the Shrubberies.
