Lunch Time meeting - Foodbank Visit

On Thursday 19th April 2018 President Lindsay Roy returned to take the chair as he welcomed 17 Rotarians to our lunch time meeting which was held at the Glenrothes Foodbank.

On reception were Peter May with Iain Oates saying grace.

Four apologies for absence were received.

Jim Boyd brought back greetings from the Rotary Club of South Queensferry whom he had visited last week

President Lindsay Roy had great pleasure in bestowing honorary membership from July 2018 on long serving members Archie Lawrie and Jim Boyd, which they both gratefully accepted. It was also accepted by the club that £750 would be given to the Happy Monday Group at the Auchmuty Learning Centre.

SVP Anne Sampson reminded those present of the forthcoming Quiz night on the Thursday evening of the 26th April and the Cantamus Concert evening at St Columba’s Church on Saturday 12thMay 2018. She also mentioned that the Presidential handover would take place on Thursday 5th July 2018

Today’s meeting was organised again to let new members be shown round the Foodbank with a soup and a sandwich lunch. The club gave £250 to the Foodbank. After the food the monthly Council Reports which were held over from last week where members were given an update from Wilna Roger on Community, Brian Johnson on Foundation and Iain Haywood advising that the Sportsman’s dinner had been a great financial success with almost all monies now having been received.

The next meeting will be an evening meeting to be held on the 26th April 2018 at the Gilvenbank Hotel where members will have their meal and then be competing in our first Quiz night with 11 teams at present participating. Please meet 6.15pm for starting at 6.30 pm. On reception will be Peter May and Ewen Macdonald
