Lairg Rotakids branch out

.

East Sutherland Rotary Club’s work with young people scored another notable success recently, with the dedication of the upgraded willow maze at Lairg’s Ferrycroft Visitor Centre.  The maze, first installed some fifteen year ago, has recently undergone a programme of refurbishment by Rotarians, ably led by Highlife Highland’s Chris Whateley who runs Ferrycroft.  The upgraded maze has served as some useful learning material for the children of Lairg’s “Rotakids” club.

In an evening ceremony at Ferrycroft, 38 members and friends of the Rotary Club gathered with Rotakids to thank Chris for his leadership and hard work.  Our pictures show the willow maze and the recently-installed Rotary bench (with an interested wooden sheep!) and Rotary Club president John McMurray presenting Chris Whateley with a token of the club’s appreciation for his successful efforts!
