Professor Sarah Cartmell speaking on New Approaches to repair Bone
Desk:-Barry Evans
2nd Steward:-Geoff Parsons (Vote Of Thanks & Speaker's Report)
Raffle:- Herbert Rowsell

Our guest speaker, Professor Sarah Cartmell, provided us with a highly informative presentation about her work on Tissue and Cell Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

Although this is a highly complex and technical subject, she delivered it in a way that Club members could understand. She even put up “Gore Warnings”  on the screen before showing pictures of internal organs working.

Fortunately we had enjoyed lunch before the presentation began.

The presentation and slides showed vividly the immense progress that has been made in medical research during recent years and demonstrated how physical problems caused by damage or wear and tear are now being treated to improve people’s quality of life.

The vote of thanks was given by Rotarian Geoff. Parsons, who thanked Sarah on behalf of the Club, for a fascinating insight into this vital world of medical advancement.
