Our three committes meet: Club Service to discuss and review our club's activities and suggest what we might do in the future, to review our current projects and assess the morale of our members - also to consider any matter which has been brought to our attention and which requires a solution.
International and Foundation discusses how best we can make a difference to the lives of people abroad by fundraising and distributing money to those in need. Foundation is the name given to Rotary International's charity which uses money raised by individual clubs and by other organisations and individuals to support needy communities in poorer countries. In the last 100 years Foundation has spent US$ 3 billion on life-changing sustainable projects around the world. All clubs a\re expected to contribute monies annually to Foundation.
Community and Vocational is our third committee which decides what good causes to support, including individuals and families in our local community and with help in projects whilst Vocational promotes events and competitions such as Young Speaker,Young Chef,Young Writer which are designed to help young people develop their talents and improve their confidence. Again these activities are in support of local people. Our club also currently supports a local organisation which helps people with a learning disability to find hope and development by the practice of drawing painting, crafts and music. We are also aware of the needs of the elderly and sick.
