Seven members, Ian Carrol, Des Donnelly, Hugh Graham, Charles Keeper, Bill McCallum, Tom McPherson and Jim Peat, visited the Rotary Club of East Kilbride Kittoch, in their temporary home, for an evening with the members and guests.
The usual greetings were exchanged and we enjoyed an evening of excellent food and great fellowship.
The speaker, Jeff Frew, Development Officer for the West of Scotland with Cycling UK and an accomplished mountaineer. Jeff gave “two talks for the price of one”, the first, on the work he does promoting cycling, touching on the increasing number of cycle paths in our area and electric bikes, and, the second, on his support for Community Action Nepal, a charity working, mainly, in health, education and community, in an area he had come to love through his involvement in mountaineering. Jeff’s address was followed by a lively question and answer session.
This brought a very interesting and enjoyable evening to a close.
