At its evening meeting on Monday 31 July members of the Rotary Club of Wellington were treated to a fascinating presentation by Ian Williamson, volunteer and fund-raiser for St Margaret's Hospice Care. With some excellent images and videos, Ian described a recent trekking and camping holiday he had taken in Costa Rica. The five-day trek involved walking past coffee plantations, through cloud forests, crossing rapidly flowing rivers (and some very rickety bridges) and meeting local wildlife in the form of crocodiles, monkeys and sloths. At the end of this arduous trek Ian was able to enjoy two days on the coast before returning to the UK
St Margaret's Hospice Care is one of many charities supported by the Rotary Club of Wellington and Club President Brian Withers was pleased to present Ian with a cheque for £100 for the charity.
