Presentation Evening 2023

The evening that we donate the proceeds of the Golf Fundraiser to local good causes.

Following yet another excellent August Bank Holiday Golf weekend at Bewdley Pines Golf Club, our club, now for the sixth time, was able to be in the wonderful position of presenting to local charities and good causes funds to enable them to continue with their good works in the local community.

This year we were able to donate £7000 to 18 local good causes at the special evening attended by over 70 beneficiaries, sponsors, friends and members on 2nd November.

As the representatives came up to receive their cheques, and be photographed by the ever reliable Colin Hill, each gave us a brief description of how our donation would be used and warmly expressed their gratitude.

Many gave us details of the day-to-day difficulties they face, with the two representatives of the Street Pastors performed an amusing short sketch in which a typical example of the challenges they encounter during their nightly vigils was depicted.

Our own Bob Bayliss explained how the money awarded to Bewdley Rotary Community Service would be used to provide Rotary Dictionaries to the leavers from local primary schools and how, despite Google, parents and teaching staff still all praise these books.

Special thanks to Bob Hill and his team for arranging the event and to the staff at the Bewdley Pines Golf Club for looking after us so well.

Thanks also go to our private and commercial sponsors for their generosity and support and it was good to see several of them at this special evening.
