 2011 Young Artist Competition

The sixth annual Plympton Rotary Club "Young Artists Exhibition" launched on Thursday 7th April has come to a close.

Continuing our work in promoting the great talent and achievements of the youngsters in the Plympton and Plymstock areas of Plymouth, the Rotary Club of Plympton were pleased that the Lord Mayor was able to host the prize giving for their sixth annual Young Artist Competition.

During April, exhibits from a number of schoolchildren were on display at Plymouth City Airport with the most popular pictures in each category voted on by the public.

The winners of this years competition were:

Key Skills 1/2 Cleo Anderson from Pomphlett Primary School

Key Skills 3/4 Caitlin Hamon from Elburton Primary School

Years 7-9 Natasha Moran from Ridgeway School

Years 10-11 Charlotte Perkins from Heles School

Air South West also donated a draw prize of 2 return flights to Jersey which were won by Lisa Middleton. The Rotary Club would like to thank Air South West, Plymouth City Airport and Sutton Harbour Holdings Ltd for the use of the airport for the past six years " especially Mike Coombes and Terry Linge for their continued help and support. Plans for next years event are already starting although with the recent news about the closure of the airport later this year, a new venue will be sought for next years exhibition and competition which has become a popular feature in both the Rotary Club and schools calendar.
