One of the main aims of Rotary is to bring Peace to the World

As Peace Officer for the District my role is to deal with all issues involving the Rotary Peace Project and to work with the Peace Fellows in Bradford. Peace can mean anything from worldwide issues to personal ability to deal with problems.

Each year we distance host one of the Peace Fellows who come to the University of Bradford for 15 months. They arrive every September and their year culminates in presentations at the Bill Huntley Peace Seminar held on the last weekend of October the following year. If you have never been to one of these, it is truly an inspirational weekend with a dinner on the Friday evening and the presentations on the Saturday.

In the District I would like to see every club having a Peace Officer. This would involve working on the Rotary Peace Project and presenting it to schools and meeting with other officers to facilitate a conference for young people once a year. We held the first one last year and we are holding another one on 12th November 2016 at Norfolk County Hall.  All schools with children over 14 years are invited to attend.
