Young Chef - Plymouth Area heat 2016

Congratulations to Kelly from Marine Academy Plymouth in coming first in today's Plymouth area final of the Rotary Young Chef competition. She and Abigail from Plymouth High School for Girls who came second now go on to January's District Final at Petroc

This year's Plymouth area final saw five young chefs from two Plymouth schools fight out yet another tough competition, this year held at CIty College Plymouth.

The three judges, Martin Benjamin from The Samphire Bush restaurant, Rikke Dahl from Love to Taste and Plymouth Albion forward and chef Rupert Cooper (aka Borgia Bull) had a tough job deciding on a winner but in the end Kelly from Marine Academy narrowly pipped Abigail from Plymouth High School for Girls.  They both go on to the District FInal at Petroc College on 17th January.

Our club would like to thank the two schools, the teachers and pupils who took part, our three judges and a big thanks to City College Plymouth for hosting this heat (and for feeding the young chefs at the end of the competition).

Yet again this was a great example of an event our club has held to showcase the great skills and abilities of some of our local youngsters.
